There's a temptation to divide life into sacred and secular - like some things we do are "for God" and everything else is just work, just business, just the grind.
"Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men." Colossians 3:23
But Colossians 3:23 erases that line: "Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men."
That means the way you show up to a client call is worship. The way you follow through on a promise, the way you build your brand with integrity, the way you keep going when nobody's watching - that's not separate from your faith. That is your faith, in motion.
Three shifts that happen when you work unto God
When you stop performing for people and start working unto God, a few things shift:
- You stop chasing approval. People are inconsistent with praise. God isn't.
- Excellence becomes natural, not exhausting. You're not proving yourself - you're honoring Him.
- Burnout loses its grip. Working for man drains you. Working unto God renews you.
So today, whatever's in front of you - the hard conversation, the unfinished project, the thing you'd rather not do - do it heartily. Do it unto Him.
Scripture reference: Colossians 3:23
